Collecting draft picks

Burke didn't get the No.1 draft pick he wanted; the NHL market didn't allow for that kind of home run. But, by moving out Dominic Moore and Nik Antropov, two players headed for unrestricted free agency, the GM bulked up his stock of draft picks. How do you think the Leafs faired?

The future post netminders?

March 04, 2009 : The Toronto Maple Leafs placed goaltender Vesa Toskala on injured reserve; Claimed goaltender Martin Gerber off waivers from the Ottawa Senators; Acquired goaltender Olaf Kolzig from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The appeareance in the past few night Gerber has played better under Leaf mangement then his stay with Ottawa. Is there any reason to move Toskala from from the organization near future? What is the future of Pogge in the minors?

Did the trades pass or fail for the Leafs?

Toronto acquires Olaf Kolzig, Jamie Heward, Andy Rogers and a fourth-round pick from Tampa Bay for Richart Petiot.
The Leafs pay some salaries in order to acquire a fourth-round pick. Rogers was a first-round pick in 2004, but hasn't played more than 48 games in a season since. An interesting note, is that 38-year-old Jamie Heward is six games away from 400 career NHL games (and the pension that comes with it).

With this move are the Leafs planning for the future trade with Tampa in the off season? Will we see a different line up that will either include Vincent Lecavalier or Martin St. Louis. What are your thoughts?
